About Durham University Choral Society

Durham University Choral Society is one of the oldest musical societies at Durham University, having performed and put on our own concerts continuously for nearly seventy years. Members of the choir consist of students at the university coming from a diverse range of backgrounds.

The choir performs large choral works given its members range from sixty to seventy in number. Every year its members perform in a variety of concerts at iconic venues such as Durham Cathedral.

We aim to provide all members with a friendly and inclusive environment to attain the highest standard of singing possible. We hope to give students a memorable experience of singing whilst completing their studies at Durham.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of Hotel Indigo Durham for our upcoming concert held at Elvet Methodist Church Durham on Thursday 5th December 2019 and tickets can be booked via Music Durham

We had the most fantastic [wedding] day. The whole weekend was amazing. Everything went so very well. The food was amazing as always, the décor and the ambience was all perfect. All of our guests had a wonderful time and are still talking about it, especially those who stayed over. The staff were an absolute credit…polite, helpful, courteous and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. What a wonderful experience it was and we will never be able to thank you all enough.
